Course objectives
The aim of this subject is to obtain a synoptic knowledge about the topic of metrology at the college level. The emphasis is on the logical structure of this discipline and to acquire knowledge and skills needed to teach vocational training and vocational subjects in high school. For these reasons, it is situated in consultations larger number of practical examples, discussion questions, and emphasized the relationship of the subject matter to practice technical applications, like nature, etc.
Objectives: Knowledges: A comprehensive overview of knowledge about the topics subject of metrology with an emphasis on the relationship of the subject matter to practice, usability engineering, human resources management, labor efficiency, etc. Skills: Being able to characterize individual rules for the management and quality improvement. Describe and explain the procedure for quality control in the preproduction stages in the relationship with suppliers and manufacturing. Orient themselves in different sections of quality management within a company. Attitude: To learn the value of objectivity. Deepen the values related to work ethics. Strengthen a sense of precision. Deepen the values relating to work safety and hygiene, health and the environment.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, students should know and be able to:
- Basic concepts and principles, principles for quality management and improvement.
- Describe the individual steps of quality management and improvement.
- Focus on individual quality management segments within a single business.
- Explain on the basis of knowledge of topics I and II. consultation, quality management system of the sub-process.

  • The syllabus of consultation (after weeks or blocks) I. Principles for management and quality improvement. 1. The basic concepts. Rules and principles for the management and quality improvement. 2. The policy metrological system in the Czech Republic. II. The metrology, as part of quality control. 1. The quality of products, services and processes. 2. The policy quality management (conception of corporate standards, concepts of ISO, TQM concept). 3. The EFQM excellence model. 4. The management of quality. Benefits of implementing a quality management system for stakeholders. 5. The documentation of quality management systems. 6. The top management in the quality management system (... human resources in quality management system, employee training, teamwork). 7. The economics of quality. 8. Quality in pre-production stages. The quality of relationships with suppliers. Quality in production. 9. The continual improvement - continual improvement. 10. The audit. Selected terms according to the CSN EN ISO 19011. The types of audits.

After the completing of the course, the students should know and would be able to: Basic concepts and principles, principles for management and quality improvement. Describe the various steps of management and quality improvement. To understand the various segments of quality management within a company. Explain to the knowledge of the topics I and II. consultation, quality management system sub-process.
Presentation of a specific subsystem quality management process in relation to the technical and pedagogical practice.
