- This course is a brief repetition of the most important grammatical structures of modern German. It aims at refreshing and fostering the students’ knowledge acquired at high school and at leading them to independent work with the common reference grammars.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course, students should be able to:
- understand and explain the meaning of the most important terms in grammatical descriptions (as they are used in common German textbooks);
- correctly identify grammatical structures in German language material and assign them to the appropriate grammatical categories;
- explain the organization of common grammar reference books of German;
- use reference grammars to find solutions to more complicated problems of grammar and to correct grammatical mistakes;
An important learning outcome in the affective domain is the students’ ability and willingness to work independently with reference grammars to solve problems without the teacher’s assistance. - Syllabus
