- The course is designed for students who are familiar with the so-called utopian literature (utopia, dystopia, science fiction, fantasy, horror, steam-, bio-, cyberpunk etc.).

- Course objectives
- The course offers an insight into bioethical issues through the use of a specific literary genre. It is therefore a supplement to the offered course in bioethics.
- Learning outcomes
- Students will be able to identify and analyze bioethical problems and questions in their futurological perspective on the background of attractive literature.

- Utopia as a specific genre; forms and forms of utopian literature
- Classification of bioethical issues (3 pillars of bioethics)
- Utopia and dystopia (bioethics in political context)
- Bioethics in the work of K. Čapek
- Robots and androids in Czech literature
- Specific works of Czech and world utopian literature in bioethical perspective (sci-fi, fantasy, biopunk, steampunk etc.)
