- Course objectives
- Lectures widen students´knowledge in the field of literary movements, currents and personalities in Russian literature of the 20th century. The course is focused on understanding, ability to self-criticism and interpretation of works by key authors of Russian prose, poetry and drama of the period. Attention is paid to the period of historical events, especially reassessment of cultural values and development after 1985. The course broadens, deepens and complements bachelor's course called Russian modern literature I.
- Learning outcomes
- Students know and understand the periodization of Russian literary, its development in the 20th century; they understand the specifics of each literary current and its characteristic; students are able to include specific authors whose style they know into the periodization; briefly characterize the specifics of selected works of Russian writers; use theoretical knowledge in work with texts; they can connect their knowledge of the history with the development of Russian literature and its important personalities; understand and explain the specifics of so-called post-soviet literary development.

- Teaching methods
- The subject will be taught in the form of lectures. Students will elaborate on a topic that relates to the literary work of one of the authors of the 20th century. When working on the topic the student must use at least 3 sources of secondary literature.
