- Course objectives
- The goal is to extend the student skills in social work and social pedagogy. The student will demonstrate the skill of educational work through application of appropriate content and adequate methods of work (social and pedagogical). He responds to a certain reality that he seeks to influence (or directly intervene) through appropriately chosen strategies.
- Learning outcomes
- The student will be able to gain social or socio-pedagogical practice in a selected facility or institution. The student will be able to easily orientate himself in the services resulting from the Act on Social Services No. 108/2006. The student will gain knowledge in the field of social practice. The student will be familiar with various areas of professional practice of a social worker. The student will be able to create records from practice. The student will be able to present the results of their own practice and share them with colleagues.
- Syllabus
- This pedagogical practice involves individual practice, meaning that students choose a facility, institution, or organization to collect knowledge and experience in and they will record it in detail in the practice logbook. During this practice student has the opportunity to have a look at the selected area of environmental or multicultural education. They get familiar with the operation of a facility or institution, work with a selected clientele, or a target group with whom he works in appropriate ways and methods according to the target of the facility. These are 4 hours of direct work per day, either throughout the week, or the practice can be divided into units by the target group they are working with (for example, weekend activities for children, youth, adults or seniors), or eventually the practice can be divided into the whole semester (it will be a continuous practice of two to three hours a week, when the student is going to the selected facility where he works with the clientele). After an agreement with the guarantors of practice, students will reach out to the facility, fill in a contract of practice and join a weekly intensive practice that assumes 4 hours of direct work with the client or clients on a daily basis, eventually with a selected target group according to the organization's specialization in practice.
