- Course objectives
- At the end of the course students should be able to understand the basic features of Russian childrens literature; to learn the relations of Russian folklore and childrens literature; to learn the history of Russian childrens literature to understand the relations between childrens literature, art and music and to read the main representatives of Russian childrens literature.

- - to describe the most important stages of the development of literature for children and youth - Identify and summarize the most important features of each development period - identify the specifics of literature for children and youth

History of children's literature in the 19th century. 5-6. Children's literature in the first half of the 20th century. 6-7. Children's literature in the second half of the 20th century 8 -9. Fairy tales. Folk and authorial. Genres. Development. Main representatives. 11 -12. Children's literature in the 21st century.12. Russian translations of foreign children’s literature.
