Course objectives
Basic overview of cartography, cartographic methods and skills with applications for teaching at school.
Learning outcomes
The student will use information about cartographic products to create a terrain profile, to determine the morphological shapes of the terrain and to determine the layout of the leaves. The student creates a worksheet for pupils on the scale map. The student will work out the legend of the thematic map according to cartographic principles. Student is able to professionally evaluate cartographic work. Student applies appropriate cartographic map for the region.

  • 1. Scientific field "cartography", definition and classification, historical cartography. 2h 2. Earth shape, coordinate systems, cartographic distortions, cartographic mappings, classification, simple mappings, general mappings, mappings choice. 3h 3. Creation of maps, astronomical-geodetic work, field mapping, photogrammetric methods. 2h 4. Editing and mapping, coordinate networks, complementary and construction elements of maps. 2h 5. Means of cartographic representation, point, line and area symbols cartograms and cartodiagrams, color, description and scale. 3h 6. Classification of cartographic works, general geographical maps, thematic maps. 2h 7. Modern cartographic methods, map creation using remote sensing. 2h 8. Cartography in education. 2h

psaný test, ústní rozprava nad písemnou částí, zhodnocení zpracování cvičení, výsledná známka je souborem dílčích výsledků. Bodové zhodnocení upřesní vyučující na začátku výuky.
