- Course objectives
- The course focuses on the process and product of the professional portfolio. It aims to teach students to systematically record and reflect on the process of becoming a teacher, to promote individualisation and authenticity in the professionalisation process and to help students accept responsibility for their professional development. The role of portfolio in professional development and student learning is emphasized, as well as its use for the assessment of educational processes.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course students should be able: • to critically evaluate their own professional qualities; • to prove their own professional competences; • to identify action points for their own further professional development.
- Syllabus
- The tuition is organized in blocks and links seminar meetings to the student's own work. The topics include: 1. The meaning, purpose, and process of creating a professional portfolio. Students’expectations. 2. Portfolio content, its structure. Individual part of the portfolio. 3. The electronic version of the portfolio. Documentation part of the portfolio. 4. Individual portfolio presentations with a sample of selected artifacts on the topic "What I learned about my professional self". Setting action points for students’further professional development.
