Course objectives
The course develops language knowledge and communication skills of the student, attention is paid to linguistic components selected topics, grammatical and lexical structures are practiced in different communicative situations through complementary exercises that are focused on the development of receptive and productive skills and verbal interaction. The course offers a preparatory exercises to improve verbal and written expression, situational exercises and discussions.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course the student will be able to work with authentic texts in Russian language, properly react in different communicative situations, difficult to explain linguistic phenomena in comparison with Czech.

  • 1 to 2. Science. Revision of nouns.
  • 3 to 4. Living in a village and in the city. Revision of verbs.
  • 5 to 6. Cultural events. Exhibitions, concerts, festivals. Revision of adjectives.
  • 7 to 8. Culture in our lives. Famous artists. Revision of pronouns.
  • 9 to 10. Ecology. Revision of numerals.
  • 11 to 12. Current global issues. Revision.

Teaching methods
Seminar, class discussion on given topics, homework, group projects within the areas discussed, reading and listening of Russian texts.
Assessment methods
Requirements for admission to the examination are active participation in class and regular assessment and doing the required home assignments.
The credit consists of colloqium (written and oral part). After the successful completion of a written test, students may make oral credit, which includes: Analysis and correction of test errors, conversation in Russian with the teacher (questions based on the topics from the course); creating a dialogue in pairs on a given situation. Duration of oral part 15–25 minutes.
We recommend enrolling in the follow-up course Jazykový seminář 5 (RJ1031), in which, among other things, monologue and dialogical language are purposefully developed.
