- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to introduce students to the specifics of communication in terms of non-violent and respectful education. Students will acquire basic knowledge and skills that will enable them to create quality relationships in relation to a chosen target group.
- Learning outcomes
- Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to: - Describe pedagogical communication, both verbal and non-verbal components, and learn to analyze social communication with respect to context; - Explain the four steps of non-violent communication and understand listening as a prerequisite for empathetic conversation in education, learning to apply them in model situations; - Know basic terminology (e.g. NVC, emotions, communication barriers, communication with students with ADHD, needs, self-reflection, etc.); - locate specific practice situations and apply the skills learned to them; develop listening skills, create an empathic space, and understand the deeper meaning of another's message; - to be familiar with the basic principles of respectful and non-violent education; to use the knowledge gained through the study of literature in practice.

- Definition of pedagogical communication. Principles of pedagogical communication, blocks in communication. Verbal communication and non-verbal communication. Communication rules. Non-violent communication - observation, needs, feelings of pleading. Listening and Respect and being respected in education. Self-reflection in communication.

- Teaching methods
- Presentation, consultation, feedback, self-reflection, solving model situations. Students create seminar papers according to the assignment and individually prepare for classes by reading the assigned literature.
- Assessment methods
- Type of teaching: lecture. Completion: colloquium. Requirements for completion: active participation in class and preparation of a written work - self-reflection (1-2 pages, 5000 characters) according to the assignment of the teacher. Individual feedback will be given to the student after the submission of the paper.
