- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the possibilities and procedures for promotion and development of communication skills of children and pupils with impaired communication abilities in preschool and school age and also during adolescence. Students will learn the specifics of access to these categories.
- Learning outcomes
- Expected outcomes: • student will understand the intervention and therapeutic approaches for children and adolescents with pupils communication disability • Students will understand the problems of contact and cooperation with parents, legal guardians, teachers and other professionals in the context of comprehensive support of children and adolescents with impaired communication skills.
- Syllabus
- Specifics of communication and cooperation with the client - child, student, teens and adolescents in the context of speech therapy intervention and support. Role of interdisciplinary collaboration. • Communication and collaboration with parents and legal guardians of children, pupils, adolescents and adolescents in the context of speech therapy intervention and support. Possibilities of interdisciplinary cooperation • Specifics of cooperation with schools and school facilities. • Stimulating the development of speech and language skills in children at risk - Specific procedures speech intervention, therapeutic materials. • Stimulating the development of speech and language skills in children with delayed and language impairment - Specific procedures speech intervention, therapeutic materials. • Intervention approaches to development of communication skills in preschool children, before the start of compulsory schooling - Specific procedures speech intervention, therapeutic materials. • Intervention approaches, speech therapy, and the specifics of pupils of school age, the possibility of linking the educational process - Specific procedures speech intervention, therapeutic materials. • Cooperation with the school in the context of speech therapy intervention and support for pupils with impaired communication skills, methodological guidance. • Stimulating communication skills and mobilization of children, pupils, adolescents and adolescents in the context of social inclusion • Speech therapy and its specifics of pupils in adolescence and adolescence, the possibility of linking the educational process. • Utilization of mediated learning in the context of intervention approaches in preschool children, school-age adolescents. • The use of simulation tools to develop competencies of students in speech therapy intervention for children, adolescents and pupils with impaired communication skills.
