- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to get acquainted with current and recent artistic tendencies, especially with those that touch on more general social issues. The course thus complements and develops a basic overview of the art of the time, at the same time it opens up important issues also in terms of education.
- Learning outcomes
- Students will understand selected topics of contemporary art and are able to explain them.
Students interpret selected works.
The student is able to appropriately didactically transform knowledge of art history and other disciplines for the needs of specific teaching practice. - Syllabus
- Art and politics (autonomy and political activation of art, art and feminism, sexual identity, anti-war movement, anti-globalization movement,…).
- Exoticism, colonialism and postcolonialism in art (modernist receptions, cultural dominance, art of East and West).
- Art and environmental issues (greening of art from the 1960s, land art, bio art, eco art).
- Participatory and collaborative aspects in contemporary art (art of cooperation, educational turn,…).
- Digital society and art (from a new tool to user strategies, net art, postinternet).
- Past and future (historiographical turn, archival impulse).
