- Course objectives
- The aim is to implement theoretical knowledge in the field of cartography into cartographic creation and to develop students' partial map skills from map selection, through reading, analysis, interpretation to its creation and visualization.
- Learning outcomes
- The student selects, reads, analyzes, interprets, creates and visualizes a map according to a specific task.
- Syllabus
- 1. Scientific field of cartography, definitions and related terms. 2. Mathematical cartography - shape of the Earth, coordinate systems, cartographic distortions, cartographic representations. 3. Content and content of the map 4. Map language and means of expression 5. Methods of thematic cartography 6. Cartographic generalization 7. Cartography in teaching and development of map skills.
