Course objectives
The course introduces future teaching assistants to the theoretical and theoretical-methodological foundations important for the personality formation of the individual, both in individual and prosocial contexts. Students will be introduced to selected findings from educational theory and methodology, especially the basics of axiological, ethical, aesthetic and family education theory. Practical training is aimed at ensuring that future teaching assistants acquire the basic skills necessary to support the education of pupils through the classroom, in addition to developing specific skills and abilities to make informed judgements about the educational process in the classroom, to assess the needs and development of individual pupils in specific situations and in terms of their overall development, in particular to help children to find their way to themselves, their personality, their conscience, their taste, their imagination, their creativity, their awakening of interests, their capacity to learn, to explore, to navigate in the space of possibilities and to make choices for worthwhile life goals.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to: - orientation in the theoretical foundations of the subtopics of the course content - capture and analyse difficulties in school practice
Syllabus
  • The course focuses on creating the foundations of educational competences of a teaching assistant. In this sense, it is crucial to reflect specific personal, psychopedagogical, communicative competences as well as the foundations for specific management, advisory and consultative competences. By education we mean a system of helping the learner in the processes of his/her personalisation, socialisation and enculturation; creating and implementing opportunities for his/her optimal development, which leads to an active, independent, creative, humane and democratic life orientation. The content of the teaching consists of topics aimed at the formation of personality characteristics (of the educator and the educated), their character, beliefs, attitudes, motives, feelings, needs and interests and the corresponding forms of behaviour and actions.
