- Course objectives
- Students understand the phonetic aspects of the Czech language. They are able to rewrite the sound implementation of the language into the phonetic transcription and to classify Czech sounds. They are able to name and explain the phonetic means of fluent speech. They learn the basic principles and orthoepy and ortofonie. They understand the specifics of pronunciation of loan words. They control the spelling.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course students will be able to: - explain the audio component of human communication made with the help of speech organs. - explain basic phonetic and phonological concepts, acoustic speech structure and comparison of spoken and written speech. - use phonetic transcription, classify vowels and consonants, and describe the construction of the syllable. - explain the principles of orthophony and orthoepy. - explain the articulation of continuous speech and pronunciation in Czech (home, lexical), describe the variations of the pronunciation of phonemes in contextual speech, the sound construction of Czech. - record language speeches without spelling mistakes.

Standard pronunciation of home and loan words. 11.- 12. Sound and graphic Czech composition. Czech spelling.

- Teaching methods
- Type of tuition: Seminar excercises focused on the culture of spoken and writen expression and basic of phonetics and phonology. Textual analysis: identification of the phonetic phenomena in the text, probleme method, controlled discussion.
- Assessment methods
- The final test, which will be carried out in the faculty: checking knowledge of phonetic and phonological transcription, classification of sounds and basic terminology from phonetics and phonology, including checking knowledge of spelling. The student must obtain at least 80% points in the test. The prerequisite for access to the final test is the fulfillment of the assigned intermediate tasks and tests.
