- Course objectives
- Social educators face in practice different groups of socially disadvantaged people seeking for change. This social phenomenon is abroad frequently termed as 'social change. From the point of view of social educator, it is important to understand this social phenomenon and be able to participate in it. Social change can be achieved through social action. And the theater can be a powerful tool, which encourages social action through group process and recognition.
- Learning outcomes
- Student will be able to: - describe the example of social change; - Interpret the process of social change in context of social pedagogy; - Evaluate the authors dealing with the processes of social change in society in relation to the social pedagogy and its current practice; - Define the concept of applied drama and theater; -describe different forms of theaters leading to social action; - Explain his/her own attitudes and suggestions to theater and educational activities of socially disadvantaged groups.

- Social Change in the context of social pedagogy. Social change and social action from the perspective of selected authors. Applied drama. Selected forms of theaters leading to social action. Presentation of examples of good practice. Group proposal of drama and education activities.
