Course objectives
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the practice of interpreting, with due regard to the specifics of interpreting for deaf persons. Students will be able to define different types of interpreting as well as to describe the interpretation process and preparation strategies. They will become familiar with the ethics of interpreting and with the specifics of the target group. Upon completion of this course, students will have acquired sufficient theoretical knowledge to be ready for further studies and training of their interpreting skills.
