- We live in a world of visual information in which contemporary visual art plays an irreplaceable role in the ways it comments on current social issues, permeates our lives, connects various disciplines and mediates critical reflection on the problems of the present. Tuition in the form of lectures with interactive discussion elements activates students' interest in fine arts and illustrates current visual arts as an important part of contemporary life aided with pictorial materials. In the selective overview, the tuition focuses on the main tendencies and personalities in the art of the last few decades and monitors the position of arts management in the Czech and international context.
- Learning outcomes
- - Graduates obtain an informed attitude to current visual culture - They are able to interpret the main trends in the visual arts of the last few decades and get to know current important Czech and international artists. - They can understand the basic processes and rules of arts management, monitor the activities of galleries and become aware of the aesthetic, social and philosophical role of contemporary visual art.

- Teaching methods
- The lectures are designed as a space for discussion on selected thematic areas, that are saturated with a large amount of pictorial and study materials, video documents and interactive elements. Meetings at exhibitions or artworks in public spaces are included in the lectures. Videos and other materials for individual study are available.
- Assessment methods
- The colloquium takes the form of an active discussion or test, but alternative forms of completion are also possible such as texts or individual, creative or organisational activities
