- Course objectives
- The aim of this course is to acquire knowledge of metrology, conducting physics experiments, processing and evaluation of data. The emphasis is placed particularly on the acquisition of the experimental skills with the respect to the topics studied in the basic physics university course. Objectives: Knowledge: A comprehensive set of knowledge of conducting and processing measurements in physics with the emphasis on the relationship between the subject matter and reality, e.g. nature, home, technical applications, etc. Skills: To be able to conduct physics measurements in physics, build an experiment, choose the appropriate measuring method, process the data and make a reasonable estimate of the measurement uncertainties. . Attitudes: To learn the value of objectivity and significance of the scientific work.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course the student will acquire: Knowledge: A comprehensive overview of the knowledge about the implementation and processing of physical measurements with an emphasis on the relation of the substance to practice, nature, household, technical applications etc. Skills: To be able to perform physical measurements independently, to set up an experiment, to choose a suitable measuring method , able to interpret measured data and make a qualified estimate of measurement uncertainty. Attitudes: To master the values of objectivity and the importance of scientific work.
