- Course objectives
- Annotation: Introduction to didactics is focused on defining the didactics of vocational subjects and practical teaching in the system of pedagogical sciences. Further attention is paid to the process of teaching vocational subjects and selected core areas of didactics (objectives and content of teaching, teaching technology). The course is focused on acquiring knowledge and skills in the application of general didactic experience in teaching vocational subjects. Objective: At the end of the course students will be able to characterize the didactics of vocational subjects in secondary schools set goals in teaching vocational subjects, define teaching principles in teaching vocational subjects. Then further determine the content and teaching resources in teaching vocational subjects, to define teaching methods, forms and material resources in teaching vocational subjects.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course the student will be able to: - To characterize the didactics of professional subjects as a scientific discipline, its contribution to teachers and its position in the system of pedagogical and other sciences. - Define the teaching process in the teaching of vocational subjects and describe its main elements. -Determine teaching goals in the teaching of vocational subjects and state the work of the teacher with the goals in teaching. - Determine the content of teaching in vocational subjects. - Define teaching methods, forms and means in teaching professional subjects.

- Block 1: didactics in the system of pedagogical sciences, secondary vocational education, didactics of vocational subjects. Block 2: The process of teaching vocational subjects, types and phases of the educational process. Pupils' motivation. Application of didactic principles, precepts and rules in teaching vocational subjects. Block 3: Educational goals in teaching vocational subjects. The arrangement of the subject matter of the curriculum. Basic, expanding and deepening the curriculum of vocational subjects. Block 4: The teaching methods used in teaching vocational subjects, factors affecting the choice of methods. Conventional teaching methods in teaching vocational subjects. Activity, independence and creativity of students in professional courses, teaching jobs. Activating and comprehensive teaching methods in teaching vocational subjects. Organizational forms in teaching vocational subjects. Didactic technology and teaching aids used in teaching vocational subjects.

- The course is completed by colloquium. Requirements for the colloquium: - Developing a colloquial work in the range of 4-8 pages according to the instructions of the teacher. - Completion of colloquial written work. Minimum percentage: 70% correct answers.
