- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to introduce students to the sociological perspective and current findings in various areas relevant to the field of special and inclusive education, such as the sociology of childhood, sociology of the family, sociology of medicine, and sociology of education.
- Learning outcomes
- The student understands the specific sociological perspective in relation to everyday life topics as well as those in special education. The student knows key terms and concepts used in sociology, such as stigma, manifest and latent functions, exclusion, capital, etc. The student is aware of the relationship between individual and social aspects of various phenomena. The student is familiar with current sociological findings related to the family, the educational system, medicine, etc.
