Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the life situation of students with various forms of special educational needs - with aspects of difficulties and support of human and professional character.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will be oriented: - in key categories of special educational needs; - in basic terminology related to the given areas of Special Educational Needs.
Syllabus
  • Life situation of a pupil with special educational needs in case studies: A student with impaired communication skills. A pupil with a mental disability. Pupil with a physical disability. A pupil with a hearing impairment. A visually impaired pupil. Pupil at risk and with behavioral disorders. The case studies will present specific stories of pupils with special educational needs and then discuss the factors that shaped their life situation.

Seminary, discussion, homework.
Assessment methods
Written test of the terminology - to successfully complete it is necessary to obtain at least 75% of points. Elaboration of a concept map from terminology presented in case studies - details of the procedure and presentation will be agreed at the first meeting in class.
