Prerequisites
The content of the course is the philosophical and theoretical anchoring of research methods, the creation of a research design, the application of methodological tools (especially within discursive approaches), training in the skill of writing research reports, critical evaluation of the possibilities and limits of research methods, usability for social scientific research.

Course objectives
The subject is based on specific analyzes of research data. The skills acquired in this subject are aimed at the creation of bachelor's and diploma theses.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, students will be able to: • present research based on theoretical anchoring, • describe the differences between quantitative and qualitative methodological research, • lead a discussion about the research paradigm, • analyze written materials, • apply methodological tools to the research of social and educational phenomena, • critically evaluate the validity of research data, • create a research design and write research reports.
Syllabus
  • 1. The place of Social education in the system of pedagogical sciences. 2. The concept and limits of social science in comparison with the concept of natural science. 3. Qualitatively oriented research paradigm (philosophical starting points, concepts, examples of research methods). 4. Quantitatively oriented research paradigm (philosophical starting points, concepts, examples of research methods). 5. Research in critical research (goals, subject of research, influence on social reality). 6. Creation of research design, creation of problematic questions, methods of data collection. 7. Writing a research report, interpretation of research data, controversy over the results of the investigation.

Attendance at the course is compulsory, the output for graduation is the creation of data analysis, data interpretation and polemics in the scope of five pages of text.
