Course objectives
Upon completion of the course the students will be knowledgeable about health preventive physical activity, which is the starting point of deliberate physical activity of a student (person) in the context of an adequate physical activity regime and active lifestyle. On the basis of theoretical knowledge and practical demonstrations of physical activity, the students will be able to participate in the development of a physical activity programme for children.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the learner understands the theoretical requirements for preventive physical activities that are an essential part of a physical regime and a healthy lifestyle. The learners are ready to apply these theories in practice and to use the acquired knowledge and skills in shaping a person's movement regime.
Syllabus
  • The importance of physical activity for health. Movement regimen and health oriented fitness. Promoting and influencing muscular fitness and flexibility, aerobic fitness and body composition. Physical activity in and out of school, individual movement programmes. Warm-up, stretching, relaxation and strengthening exercises. Psychomotor exercises. Conditioning exercises. Exercise in the natural environment. Non-traditional movement activities.

Theory and practical examples of health-oriented physical activity.
Assessment methods
Didactic test and questionnaire from the theory of health preventive physical activity of man.
