Course objectives

Basic knowledge about vector spaces, matrix and determinants, systems of equations, euklidean spaces.

Syllabus

I.Vector spaces Real vector spaces, subspaces, linear independence, basis and dimension, row space, column space, null space. II. Matrix and determinants Matrices ans matrix operations, inverses, rules of matrixarithmetic, elementary matrices and a method for findung inverse of an invertible matrix A, diagonal, triangular and symmetric matrices. The determinant function, evaluating determinantsby row reduction, properties of the determinant function, cofactor expansion. III. Systems of equations introduction to systems of linear iquations, Gaussian elimination, Cramerś rule. IV. Euklidean spaces Inner products, norm of a vector, angle and orthogonality in inner product spaces, orthonormal bases, Gram-Schmidt process, orthgonal matrices, change of basis.
