- Course objectives
- Compendium of physics knowledge covers all areas of physics from mechanics, acoustics, optics, thermodynamics, electricity and magnetism to atomic physics. Contains all the important tasks, examples and solutions.
The aim of the course is a summary of the physical evidence obtained so far at university, at the higher level of generalization.
Emphasis is placed on finding common elements and the interrelationship of individual physical disciplines. - Syllabus
- From mechanics to thermal physics.Frames of reference. Temperature, internal energy and heat Solids, liquids and gases (and plasma) Thermodynamic processes and cycles Waves. Superposition and interference in one dimension The phenomenon of "beats" Reflection. Standing (stationary) waves The Doppler effect for sound Huygen's principle & diffraction. Young's experiment Refraction Electric charge. Electric force and field Magnetic forces. Induction. Alternating currents The atomic model. Thermal radiation.Stefan-Boltzmann's law Spectra and chemical composition
