- Course objectives
- The subject introduces students to the evolution of literary genres: it pays special attention to the evolution of novel and to the ontology and typology of drama.
- Syllabus
- 1. Genres – great epics 2. Epos – development, changes, characteristics 3. Novel – development milestones 4. Novel – sentimental, polemic, philosophical, educational 5. Novel - sentimental 6. Novel - gothic 7. Changes of the novel in the era of Romanticism 8. “New Novel“ 9. Drama – comparison to lyrics and epics (different depiction methods) 10.Text of the Drama – paralinguistic and extra linguistics elements of the drama 11. Dialogue building – basic types, remarks - functionality 12. Drama composition 13. Basic features and changes – classicist drama, romantic drama, realistic drama 14. Model drama, absurd drama 15. Changes of the absurd drama, post modern features in the drama
