Course objectives
The course focuses on analyses of and discussions on shorter literary works from Baroque to the Pre-1848-period.
Syllabus
  • Shorter workes by the following authors will be discussed: Grimmelshausen, Gryphius (Barocklyrik), Lessing, Schiller, Goethe, Kleist, Tieck, ETA Hoffmann, Lyrik der Romantik, Grillparzer.

Assessment methods
To pass the course it is demanded to: - pass the written test - attend the classes regularly - read all the short fiction discussed - conduct one of the classes - write a short essay on one of the texts read.
