Course objectives
The aim of the course is to obtain a basic knowledge of science of the material, namely the acquisition of clean metals and their alloys and their use in the national economy. Another challenge is to present some important technologies that are used in various fields of industrial production.
Syllabus
  • 1. The importance of metal in the national economy - the most common types of metals.
  • 2. Metals such as elements of production technologies.
  • 3. Types of ore and extraction, treatment, production of pig iron in blast furnace.
  • 4. Production of steel - the creation of a steel plant.
  • 5. The crystalline structure of metals.
  • 6. Diagram system iron - carbon.
  • 7. Thermal and chemical heat treatment of steel.
  • 8. Non-ferrous metals - their distribution and use in industry.
  • 9. Light metals - an overview of the main elements, alloys and their processing, technical application.
  • 10. Non-ferrous metals - an overview of the main elements, alloys, processing and technical application.
  • 11. Powder metallurgy.
  • 12. Non-ferrous materials used in industry and science.
  • 13. Composite materials in technical practice.
  • 14. Materials oriented architecture.
  • 15. The latest types of materials developed for the highly stressed engineering parts.
  • 16. Stainless material used in the technical areas.
