Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to understand and explain (1) basic taxonomical and phylogenetical information about selected groups of invertebrate animals; (2) create connection with the knowledge about their reproduction and development; and (3) their distribution and ecology; (4) make identification and (5) even species determination of the most important representatives, escpecialy those of the Czech or European fauna.

  • 1. Protozoa 2. Porifera 3. Cnidaria 4. Platyhelminthes 5. Pseudocoelomata: Rotifera, Gastrotricha, Acanthocephala, Nematoda, Nematomorpha 6. Mollusca I - Gastropoda) 7. Mollusca II - Bivalvia and Cephalopoda 8. Annelida: Polychaeta, Oligochaeta, Hirudinea 9. Arthropoda I - Chelicerata 10. Crustacea I - Entomostraca - Branchiopoda 11. Crustacea II - Malacostraca - Isopoda, Amphipoda, Decapoda 12. Myriapoda + Insecta I - Hemimetabola 13. Insecta = Ectognatha II - Holometabola 14. Echinodermata (Adriatic Sea)
