Course objectives
At the end of the course, students will be able to: - identify features that make texts typical for a certain period, - analyse short fiction from the period and make reasonable comparisons, - make hypotheses based on texts and give arguments, - demonstrate their understanding of the text by teaching it to others.
Syllabus
  • Shorter workes by the following authors will be discussed: Grimmelshausen, Gryphius (Barocklyrik), Lessing, Schiller, Goethe, Kleist, Tieck, ETA Hoffmann, Lyrik der Romantik, Grillparzer.
