- Course objectives
- At the end of this course, students should be able to: - know basic microbiological concepts and classification of microbes - learn the overview of the major viruses, fungi and parasites in the human body - learn the methods of exploration of micro-organisms in samples obtained from the human body - explain the nature of the antibody response of the human body to attack micro-organisms - understand the nature of methods of combating microbial infections
- Syllabus
- T1 Micro-organisms and human body- basic concepts, classification microbes, history. Human body cavities such as ecosystems, the normal population of the human body. Microbes as guides disease. Overview of the major bacterial. Methods for microorganisms in samples obtained from the human body. P1 Microscopy of bacteria, the cultivation of bacteria, identification of bacteria by biochemical properties. T2 Micro- organisms and antibody response indirectly by determining the identity of microorganisms antibodies, the importance of vaccination and passive immunization. T3 Methods of combating micro-organisms. decontamination methods, antimicrobial substances. resistance to antibiotics and its causes. P2 Susceptibility testing of bacteria to antimicrobials by various methods. Indirect card microorganisms (evaluation and interpretation). T4 Summary of main virus, fungi and parasites in the human body P3 Macroscopy, microscopy, and cultivation of fungi and parasites

- Teaching methods
- Theoretical interpretation of cultures supplemented with examples of microorganisms. Observation of cultures of bacteria, mold and fungi in the light microscope. Simple experiments demonstrating the sensitivity / resistance of bacteria to antibiotics.
- Assessment methods
- Credit. Mandatory participation in five of the seven lessons, the subject is finished the final plenary discussion.
