- Course objectives
- At the end of this course the students will be able to deal with standard morphological plan of Czech language. The sudent will understand the problems of the functional and formal morphology: type of morpheme, grammatical structure of the word, criterion of classification of the word sorts (morphological, semantic and syntactical criterion). Students will also be able to recognize the morphological categories of the nouns and verbs, grammatical forms of the nouns and the verbs (usage of the grammatical forms, variants, irregularity in the declination and the conjugation). Students will know uninflected word sorts in the Czech stylistic aspects in the morphology.

- 1. Morphological terminology. 2. Word; word meaning, word sorts. 3. Types of the morphemes. 4. Functional and formal morphology. 5. Functional morphology. Grammatical categories. 6. Syntactical function of the word sorts. 7. Formal morphology. 8. Morphology of the nouns and verbs. 9. Uninflected word sorts. 10. Spelling czech rules.

- Teaching methods
- Textual analysis, - identification of the language phenomena in the text, - problem method - controlled discussion
- Assessment methods
- The seminar is concluded by written and oral exam. During the semester students are writing control written tests focused on discussed topics according to the syllabus. One part of the of the final exam will be the verification of the orthography, 80 language thenomena is to be tested. The students must obtain at least 70%.
