The aim of the course is to provide a deeper insight into the development and current situation in philosophy of education and educational theories so that doctoral students would get a complex overview of their impact on pedagogical practice.
Syllabus
  • The aim of the course is to provide a deeper insight into the development and current situation in philosophy of education and educational theories so that doctoral students would get a complex overview of their impact on pedagogical practice. Topics to cover: •Present development of philosophical theories and concepts of man up to the end of the 20th century. •Methodological approaches to the division of current theories of philosophy of education. •Traditional and current paradigm of modern and postmodern education (Sokrates, Komensky, Gadamer, Ricoeur, Austin). •Concept and meaning of humanistic education. •Impact of ideology on philosophy of education: (neo)tomism, marxism. •Philosophy of education in experimental and pragmatic pedagogy. •Current concepts – innovative constructivism, humanistic concepts of education. •Cognitive a metacognitive theory of learning as a framework of educational concepts.
