Course objectives
Didactics At the end of the course students should be able to professionalize historical education of the graduate. Didactics prepares the student to manage the teacher`s job. The education is focused on learning how to use knowledge of common didactics and clarifying the historical education speciality.
Syllabus
  • 1. The introduction to didactics of history, the structure and character of the discipline.
  • 2. The development of didactics of history, common didactics and didactics of history.
  • 3. The relationship between the historical sciences and didactics of history as a tutional subject.
  • 4. The conception of history – mission, aims, content – in the cognitive, importance and competence area.
  • 5. The production and realization of the didactics of history system.
  • 6. The theory of selection and curicculum of history systematization.
  • 7. New trends in history as a sociocultural subject; curriculum reform`s influence on the role and mission of history and mission in the Framework educational programme (School educational programme).

Teaching methods
Lectures in combination with seminar classwork.
Assessment methods
Credit.The course consists of weekly seminar sessions and lectures. The weekly seminar sessions students regular and active participation is expected. Students must prepare a presentation (20 minutes long).
