- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the main branches and results of textual linguistics. At the end of the semester, students should be able
- to give reasonable definitions on what a text really is,
- to name the main features of texts (e.g. coherence, intentionality etc.),
- to identify in authentic language material structuring signals and the like,
- to compare the approach chosen by text linguists to the approach in different theoretical frameworks (e.g. formal syntax). - Syllabus
