- Course objectives
- Development of the attitude of society towards physically disabled 2: The aim of the subject somatopedieje theoretical familiarization with etiology, classification and characteristics of physical defects, the possibility of redress. Students will be familiar with the special care facilities for pupils with disabilities, prevention, integration and special pedagogical guidance. Outcomes of learning: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to use information obtained from physically disabled issues in education of children and pupils with physical disabilities. The aim of the course pedagogy of the persons with visual impairments is to know the basic information about pedagogy of visually impaired. At the end of the course students should understand and work with information on: Classification of visual impairment, occurrence and causes, children with low vision, partially sighted, blind children, children with multiple disabilities, deafblind children, system of education, types of schools for students with visual impairment, counselling and social services, technical aids, visual stimulation, mobility, guide dogs.
- Syllabus
- Studying areas: 1. The development of the society towards physically disabled and ill people. 2. Creating and development of somatopaedia, main representatives (Jedlička, Bartoš, Chlup, Kábele) 3. The current situation in education of physically disabled (rehabilitation units, special pre-school education, special schools elementary and grammar schools). 4. Integration of physically disabled to main stream schools, law 5. System of counselling in the Czech Republic (IPPP, SPC, PPP, SVP). 6. Organisation of hospital schools (content and organisation of education, studying plans, curriculum, and books). 7. Consideration and tasks of hospital schools, evaluation, classification. 8. Characteristic of chronically ill (heart diseases, respiratory system, allergy, disorders of metabolism, tumour diseases, skin diseases). 9. Epilepsy. 10. Specifics of work with chronically ill. 11. Classification of physical dysfunctions. 12. Central and peripheral paresis, characteristic of the most often disorders by children. 13. Central and peripheral paresis, characteristic of the most often diseases by adults (Sclerosis multiplex, Parkinsons disease, cerebral heredoataxy, embolism, Friedrichs heredoataxy). 14. Cerebral palsy, aetiology, forms of CP, psycho-motor development. 15. Poliomyelitis, aetiology, consequences. 16. Deformations, classification, characteristic of particular deformations. 17. Back diseases scoliosis, kyfosis, characteristics, care. 18. Perthess disease, aetiology, consequences, care. 19. Degenerative disorders of body (arthritis, tuberculosis of bones, arthritis, Bechtìrevova disease, necrosis. 20. Muscular dystrophy (myopathy), aetiology, consequences, care. 21. Specifics of work with physically disabled. 22. ADD/ ADHD, psycho-motor development. 23. Social physical and social aspects of physical dysfunction. 24. Comprehensive rehabilitation, perspectives and trends. 25. Seniors and disability (possibilities of care). 1. Paradigm of education of visually impaired. History and development of support of visually impaired in the Czech republic and abroad. 2. Impact of visual impairment on personality (reception, thinking processes, attention, behavior, speech). Psychomotor development of a child with profound visual impairment. 3. Anatomy of an eye. Physiology of vision. Development of vision. 4. Classification of visual impairments, etiology. Assesmentof vision and visual functions. 5. Early intervention - theoretical background, forms and service. Centres of early intervention for visually impaired children and their families. 6. A child with visual impairment in a preschool age. (preschool support and care, children with low vision and problems with binocular vision). 7. Educational system for pupils with visual impairment in the Czech republic. Braille. 8. Integration/ Inclusion. Current trends in care and education of students with visual impairment in the Czech republic and abroad. 9. Counselling and intervention - Tyfloservis o.p.s., Tyflocentrum o.p.s., SONS, Centre of Social Care, Centre of Rehabilitation and Training in Prague - Dědina. 10. - Theoretical training, complemented by an interactive discussion on the topic discussed, respectively, accompanied by a lecture practitioners, visit the selected device.
- Assessment methods
- During the semester, the obligation to attend seminars (75 % teaching). Elaboration of seminary work in the range of three parties A4.Předmět will end with an oral examination or written test (range - 60 issues for successful passed course is necessary 65% correct answers).
