Course objectives
At the end of this course, students should be able to:
distinquish local, acute, chronic and late effects of substances and know their testing
know about the interactions of substances with living organism and biotransformation of xenobiotics
overmaster the survey of inorganic and organic compounds toxicology
take ones bearings in methods of ecotoxicological testing and evaluation of chemicals and wastes
take ones bearings in Chemical substances and hazardous wastes laws and regulations
take ones bearings in classification and notification of chemical substances and products under EU and Czech legislation
be acquainted with maximal allowable concentrations of gases, vapours, and aerosols in the air, permissible levels of water and food contaminants
be acquainted with explosives, oxidizing and flammable substances
overmaster principles of occupational health and safety, protective devices, first aid treatment
be acquainted with sources of toxicological and ecotoxicological information.

  • Local, acute, chronic and late effects of substances and their testing
  • Interaction of substances with living organism, biotransformation of xenobiotics
  • Survey of inorganic and organic compounds toxicology
  • Ecotoxicological testing and evaluation of chemicals and wastes
  • Chemical substances and hazardous wastes laws and regulations
  • Classification and notification of chemical substances and products under EU and Czech legislation
  • Maximum allowable concentrations of gases, vapours, and aerosols in the air, permissible levels of water and food contaminants
