- Course objectives
- The objective of the course is to develop students' elementary skills in playing the piano. Student will be able to make overtures and finales of folk and artificial songs equipped with chord symbols, to interpret small piano compositions suitable for listening and music-movement activities in the kindergarten.
- Syllabus
- Major scales: C, G, D, A, E, F, Bb, Eb in equal- or counter-movement in the range of two octaves.
- Chords: the major triads in the range of one octave - tenuto, staccato, spread chords.
- Cadences in major chromatic transpositions.
- Basic types of stylization piano accompaniment.
- Playing 25 folk songs with the overture and singing.
- Interpretation of the piano pieces from the elementary literature.

- Type of teaching: exercises. Completion: credit. Practical completion - requirements: major scales and chords: C, G, D, A, E, F, Bb, Eb. Cadences in major chromatic transpositions, modulations through seventh-chord (D7). Playing 25 folk songs in basic stylization with overture and singing. Secondary harmonic functions - II. and VI. degree in the key of C and D major. Music transposition from C to D major, songs in the key of D major to E and F major. Interpretation of one piano piece from the elementary literature.
