Course objectives
The goal is to broaden the knowledge about of the historical development of Russian grammar. At the end of this this course student will be able to describe important changes in the development of Russian language; to interpret the history of Russian grammar; to analyze phenomena and structures of contemporary Russian in diachronic perspective.
Syllabus
  • Pronouns in Old Russian language. Formation of numerals. Etymology of numerals.
  • Verbs. Present, past and future tenses in Old Russian language. Category of tense and category of aspect.
  • Imperative and conditional.
  • Participles and transgressive.
