- The students win a basic competence in the syntax of contemporary Czech language syntax.
In the end of the course students:
- know and are able to explain the terminology of the analytic syntax;
- master analysis of the sentence, complex sentence and compound sentence;
The demands of the primary school teacher training are respect, too. - Syllabus
- 1. Types of the sentence in accordance with various criteria. Punctuation in the sentence, in the compound sentence and in the complex sentence.
- 2. Modality of the sentence. Negation in the syntax. Sentence with negation and sentence without negation.
- 3. Non-subjective sentences. Equivalent of the sentence.
- 4. Elements of the sentence.
- 5. Syntactical relations - coordination, determination, predication, apposition, their expression. Determination - congruence, governance, association/adjunction
- 6. Sentence, complex sentence and compound sentence. Compound sentence. Co-ordination.
- 7. Complex sentence. Sub-ordination. Types of clauses.
- 8. Sentence analysis. Graphical scheme of the structure of sentence, of compound sentence and of complex sentence.

Ending: Oral examination
There are two part of the examination: a) practical (student gets to analyse one sentence/clause and one compound or complex sentence); b) theoretical (student gets two theoretical questions).
To get at least mark "E" student has to answer 75 % of the questions correctly. - Language of instruction
