- Course objectives
- At the end of the course students should be able to: understand contents and solve "Mathematics for physicists 2" examples (see Course Contents). Examples are selected so that they always, if possible, include some important elements of substance discussed in the lecture.
- Syllabus
- I. The functions of several variables. The concept of the functions of several variables, the basic properties of functions. The concept of limits in the direction. Partial derivatives, total differential. Integral calculus of functions of several variables. Line integrals I and II. kind. Area integrals I and II. kind.
- II. Differential equations. The concept of differential equations, initial and boundary conditions, the general and particular solutions. Linear differential equation. Their calculations. Selected partial differential equations.
- III. Fundamentals of vector analysis and linear algebra. Operators gradient, curl and divergence. Matrices and determinants.
