Course objectives
Having passed the course, students are able to characterize contemporary world literature for young adults. They can evaluate and compare the tendencies of the development in world literature and Czech literature. They are able to choose appropriate literary texts for their own teaching practice. They will be able to interpret literary pieces as well as justify and support their views using their knowledge of literary studies.

Students combine the lectures with recommended reading.

Credit requirements: discussion over the works of world literature for youth based on student´s own reading and on readers used in the lower classes of primary schools.
