Course objectives
Having completed the course, a student will be able to incorporate the issue of political trials and political persecution in Czechoslovakia into a broader context of contemporary Czechoslovakian history.
Learning outcomes
The student is able to analyze the probable causes of illegal lawsuits in Czechoslovakia. He will be able, on the example of specific cases, to describe the State Security contribution to the preparation of the processes and to explain the influence of the Communist Party on the conduct of its own court proceedings and the determination of the level of punishment.
