- Course objectives
- At the end of the course, students: regain a contrastive view at a French sentence; realize differences and unity between Czech and French; determinate types of syntax relations in a sentence (syntactic structures in oral communication) and new trends in French grammar.
- Syllabus
- 1. Word order in a French sentence compared with Czech 2. Punctuation in a French sentence. 3. Sentence constituents, their relations (co-ordinative, determinative). Syntactic couples. 4. Relations between sentences expressing time and mood. 5. Contemporary trends in language. 6. Subordinate clauses proverbial (conditional, concessive, consequential, special purpose, temporal, causal). 7. Use of participles in syntax.

- Ending: examination. Requirements for ending: the successful test on the subject matter is divided into two sub-tests during the semester in seminars (min. 70% average success rate), oral exam according to specified areas, analysis of unknown sentences.
