- JVp001 Entrance Test A2 - English
A pass in JVk001 Entry test. The JVp019 course represents a B1 CEFR level course in intermediate English for specific purposes. The course consists of two basic components:i) grammar at the B1 CEFR level which is mainly explained using the examples of the general or general academic English language, ii) specific vocabulary related to the disciplinary/topic orientation of the course in question. Regarding the four language skills, the main emphasis is put on speaking, and listening and reading comprehension. - Course Enrolment Limitations

- Course objectives
- 1 Students will aquire the specific vocabulary presented within the five topic-based units (T1―T5) while employing the following language skills: speaking,listening comprehension, reading comprehension.
2 Within the language skill of speaking, students will acquire the basics of oral presentation.
3 Within the language skill of writing students will be able to produce a simplified summary of a specialist text.
4 Students will acquire grammar competence specified in the below-mentioned grammar chapters at the B1 CEFR level. - Learning outcomes
- By the end of the course, the student will be able to: understand spoken LSP texts at B1 level of the CEFR; understand written LSP texts at B1 level of the CEFR; successfully participate in a spoken interaction dealing with relevant LSP issues at B1 level of the CEFR; give an oral presentation on a specialist topic; use selected specialist terminology with natural and sophisticated control; show a good command of selected grammar structures at B1 level of the CEFR;

- Multidisciplinary focus of social education is reflected in topic-based orientation of the individual courses taught at the Faculty of Education. The topics in this course (A) have been chosen to reflect social and legal dimension of social education.
- Topic 1: EDUCATION (literacy, poverty and education, compulsory education, language education, pros and cons of student life)
- Topic 2: FAMILY, ADOPTION, FOSTER CARE (marriage, divorce, abortion, adoption, foster care)
- Topic 3: HUMAN RIGHTS (human rights, freedoms, right to privacy, national security, watchdog)

- Oral presentation, pair work, role plays, discussion, frontal as well as student-centred instruction.

- 1 Attendance (2 classes can be missed)
2 Continuous assessment during the semester (1 written assignment, 1 oral presentation)

4 Credit test (reading, listening, grammar, vocabulary)
