- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is: - acquaint students with examination procedures for students with physical disabilities and physical handicaps - explain and describe examined domain for pupils with physical disabilities which are used in the diagnosis of special education in mainstream schools for inclusive education Expected outcomes: - The student is familiar with the new scale of diagnostic domains - Is able to use new techniques in the diagnosis of pupils with physical disability and serious illness in an inclusive school - is able to recommend the necessary degree of support measures according to diagnostics
- Syllabus
- Warp: • Gross motor skills (diagnostics, alternative forms of locomotion, support, mobility aids) • Fine motor skills (diagnosis, support, mobility aids) • Grip (classification, alternative options of grips, intervention, compensation) • Grafomotorika (diagnostics including drawing, methodics of training, alternative methods of typing, using PC use aids) • Laterality (diagnostic, tests, pathological right-handedness - left-handedness) • Communication (motoric of organs of speech, symptomatic speech disorders, augmentative and alternative communication) • Intellectual function (degree of mental disability, disproportion verbal and nonverbal components of intellect) • Cognition (thinking skills) • Sensory perception (touch, hearing and visual perception, sensomotor, partial functions disorders, learning disorders) • Memory (short term, long term - mechanical x selective) • Emotionality (specifics, range of emotions) • Adaptability and sociability (specifics, cooperation and contacts with peers) • Job skills (tempo, changing activities, motivation, need for structure) • Self-care (hygiene, dressing, eating, aids) • Sociocultural scheme (style of education, educational environment)

- Oral exam - defense of case studies, student prepares a case study of a student with physical disabilities focusing on the functional impact of physical disability in the classroom (according to diagnostic domains).
