Course objectives
Practical activities in artifact creation by means of individualized fine arts experiments on theme "Book" with following goals: At the end of the course students should be able to: understand and explain the use of the paper as a tool of fine arts, understand and explain basic technologies of paper adjustment used in book-binding, understand and explain basic principles of weaving, look for inspiration and themes for education of creativity.
Syllabus
  • Works on paper (collage, rollage, crumplage etc.), working up of the paper stuff and the paper.
  • Basic technologies of book-binding. Folding picture-book, Japanese bindings.
  • Student's individual projects on "Book" theme , experimenting with various unconventional materials (e.g. textile, grass, wood, metal etc.).
  • Call appeal for taking part in an international students' contest "The Book Phenomenon".
