Course objectives
At the end of the course students can define the basic mathematical concepts and explain theoretical basis which is needed to understand the concept of natural numbers. This knowledge will be able to apply in achieving the Framework Educational Program for Pre-school education in the development of cognitive abilities in mathematics.

Syllabus
  • Basic concepts of propositional logic and set theory; their use in everyday communication. Binary relations, properties of relations and their use for sorting, comparing, ordering. Mapping between sets, type of mapping. Binary algebraic operations and their properties. Natural numbers, the introduction and basic properties. Operations with natural numbers. Natural numbers at primary school. Solving problems.
