- Course objectives
- At the end of this course the student will be able to use the acquired knowledge and skills of the contemporary Czech morphology. Students will understand basic concepts in formal and functional morphology.They will understand the criteria for classification of parts of speech, grammatical categories of nouns and verbs, and variants of inflectional forms of speech and classification of uninflected parts of speech. They will master the flexis of loan words and foreign proper names. They will understand the development trends in contemporary Czech morphology. The student is able to explain the most common irregularities from morphological communication and their causes. Excellent knowledge of the Czech orthography is required.

- 1. Morphology - fundamental terms. 2. Functional and formal morphology. 3. Grammatical category of the nouns. 4. Grammatical category of the verbs. 5. Interpretation of morphological phenomena. 6. Uninflected words in Czech. 7. Practical application of knowledge of contemporary morphological codification considering the study topics at the lower primary school. 8. Development tendencies in contemporary Czech morphology.

- Teaching methods
- Type of study: consultation. Active analytical students´ work in the analysis of texts, identification of selected phenomena in the text, discussion about the professional course issues, using of problem method and controlled discussion.
- Assessment methods
- The subject finishes with an exam. To finish successfully, passing the written exam is expected. Students must obtain at least 70 % rigth answers. The attendance of seminars is set as compulsory according to the Study and Examination Regulations of Masaryk University.
